Description

A classic dish with a golden, crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior, perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Chicken pieces
  • Buttermilk
  • Flour
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off before dredging in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  4. Fry the chicken pieces in batches for about 15-18 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Drain the chicken on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper to the flour mixture or infusing herbs into the buttermilk.
