Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix brown sugar and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Stir in the egg, molasses, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
