  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  5. Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently stir in chocolate chips and dried cherries.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  9. Allow to cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.
