Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, 2 tbsp ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread 1/2 cup of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for added flavor.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Let the meatloaf rest after baking to allow the juices to redistribute for easier slicing. Use lean ground beef for a healthier option, but avoid going too lean to keep it moist.
