Description
Delightful holiday appetizer filled with a creamy cheese mixture and baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 large mushrooms
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel, and carefully remove the stems to prepare them for stuffing.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated parmesan, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped green onions, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated and form a creamy filling.
- Take each mushroom cap and fill it generously with the creamy mixture you just prepared, making sure to fill until just above the edges for a beautiful presentation.
- Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top to enhance their flavor and help achieve a lovely golden color while baking. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is bubbling and golden.
Notes
Leftover stuffed mushrooms can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
