  • 1/2 cup walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth, then stir in sugar and softened butter until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
