Description
Delicious and healthy Baked Broccoli Cheese Balls, perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Begin by steaming the broccoli florets until they are bright green and just tender, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes. Once steamed, chop the broccoli finely to ensure even mixing.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and a cohesive mixture forms.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Lightly spray the tops of the broccoli balls with olive oil spray to encourage crisping. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they become golden brown and crispy.
- Once baked, serve the Baked Broccoli Cheese Balls warm as a delightful snack or a side dish.
