Description
A comforting one-pan meal that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with rice, featuring crispy bacon, ground beef, and gooey cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the crispy bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pan for flavor.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, ketchup, and mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and well combined. Serve hot, topped with crispy bacon and chopped green onions for added freshness.
