- 4 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather all your ingredients.
- In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix gently and set aside.
- Melt the butter and brush a thin layer on a sheet of phyllo dough. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the buttered phyllo.
- Place a portion of the apple mixture at one end of the phyllo sheet and roll it up tightly. Place the rolled strudel seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with more melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- Allow to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a variety of apples and ensure phyllo dough sheets are fully thawed. Adjust sugar based on apple sweetness.
