Delightful cinnamon rolls filled with gooey apple pie filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients

- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup softened butter (for spreading)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups apple pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- In a larger bowl, mix flour, melted butter, egg, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add the yeast mixture and knead to form a soft dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, sprinkle brown sugar and apple pie filling, then roll tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk to create icing. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
Add nuts or raisins to the filling for extra flavor. Serve warm, ideally with coffee or tea.
