Description

These quesadillas combine sweet apples, warm cinnamon, and gooey cheese, making a delightful breakfast that’s quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tortillas
  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Maple syrup for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat until bubbly and fragrant.
  2. Add sliced apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar to the skillet. Cook until apples are soft, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure they don’t stick.
  3. Place one tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle half of the cheese on top, add the cooked apple mixture evenly over the cheese, and then add the remaining cheese on top.
  4. Top with the second tortilla. Cook until golden brown on one side, about 2-3 minutes. Carefully flip and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from heat, slice into wedges, and serve warm with maple syrup if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave until warmed through.
