Description

Crispy, tangy fried pickles made healthier using an air fryer, perfect for snacking or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Dill pickles (or any type of pickle)
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • Breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
  • Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the pickles into chips or spears according to your preference.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg until well mixed. Dip each pickle slice into the egg and then roll it in the flour mixture.
  4. If desired, dip the pickle slice back into the egg and coat it with breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Serve with ranch, blue cheese, or aioli. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
